Eelmoor Double Header

Farnborough Test Track (also known more commonly as the Eelmoor Test Track) is exactly that, it is a test track that is frequently used by the army to do their driver training.
In the centre of a lovely countryside setting, It’s a nice smooth surface, which is great for most machines and has a lovely paddock.
Like many clubs, we hire this venue once a year to organise a sprint. As usual, at this event which we call the ‘double header’ we will run a 1/8 mile straight sprint in the morning and a 1/4 mile twisty sprint post lunch.

Regs for Brighton Speed Trials 2012

Organised by Brighton & Hove Motor Club, the National Speed Trials are the original, the first motoring event to have started in Madeira Drive; the one which set the precedent which the rest have followed.
The event dates back to 1905. In fact, Madeira Drive was resurfaced for the then-new tarmac material especially so that the first speed trials could take place (see: history).
Where all the other events end in the Drive, and vehicles are for the most part stationary, the centre of attraction at the Speed Trials is speed!
The Speed Trials are the 100 metre sprint of the motor racing world. The distance is just a quarter of a mile, and so not long after the drivers get up to speed they looking to brake.
But it's not just about speed. The Brighton Speed Trials include everything from vintage to modern motorcycles and their equivalents on four wheels.
A fantastic event for competitors, spectators and general motorsport enthusiasts, join us for this unique and historical event where you can both mingle amongst the machinery and get to sample the action at close quarters.

Home to the Science Museum's Large Objects store the former airfield at Wroughton near Swindon, is a perfect sprint venue. We’re pleased to again be staging at least 2 sprints at this wide, long and well kept track in 2011.
We regularly welcome old, new and 3 wheeled machines, so don’t miss your chance to enter and test your machine to its full capability. We have classes for juniors through to modern rocket-ships.
VMCC members can attend to watch (bring a current membership card), but if you wish to bring a large group of friends or family along please visit the Science Museum web site for details of museum opening times.

Regs for 1000 Bikes

Once again we’ll be putting on a Display of Alcohol Burning, Tyre Smoking action on the Mallory Start & Finish straight. We will have our usual lunchtime session during the Sunday.
Timing was rudimentary in old days with Flag Starts and hand held stop watches and it is in this spirit (of those early days) that we use a Flag Start for this hugely popular Sprint demo. Enjoyable for both participants and onlookers we’ll again run two lanes, of old and new machines, running side by side.
As always (this is a very desirable event to ride at and as the paying public are watching) we will again be doing our best to invite only the most technically, visually or historic and interesting machinery for riding action on the 1/8th mile course.
Mail us and you may just get the chance to be selected to represent a typical Sprint Meeting that could have taken place on any Sunday during the last 60 years and to give an idea of the sort of machines that form the backbone of Sprinting.
We’ll also have a HISTORIC SPRINT MACHINE DISPLAY on both (Saturday & Sunday), historically in this large marquee we’ve displayed historic machines from George Brown’s Nero and Super Nero, through to Alf Hagon’s big Jap, John Hobb’s Hobbit, TC Christenson’s Hogslayer and Derick Chinn’s Pegasus. Hopefully this year will be no exception - so even if you have an interesting project or historic non-runner let us know if you’d like it on display.
Even if you’re not riding or displaying, Mallory’s 1000 bikes weekend is a great weekend so why not join us anyway, there’s normally a great band on each evening and even nice beer in the bar!

Entry Regs for Honington 2012

Our first event of the season and what we hope to become a regular fixture on the VMCC Sprint Section calendar, Honinington is a well kept ‘live’ airfield so it should be a fantastic meeting for anyone who wants to come along and give their machine a run through its paces.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Honington is an active MOD site, and security is therefore paramount. For this reason, the names and transport details of everyone attending is required, and will be held by the Guardroom for checking.
Unless your name and mode of transport are on the list, you will not be granted permission to enter, and we have been informed that there will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule.
Therefore even if you only think that someone might be coming, put their name down. It doesn't matter if they do not turn up, but it will matter if they do and their name is not on the list.
