Brighton Speed Trials 2020

5th Sept 2020

Sat 5th Sept and we should have been on Brighton seafront today with fellow Speed Trials enthusiasts. Like so many things this year, COVID unfortunately put pay to that. As a further blow, we received the sad news from Alex Champion that volunteer Speed Trials marshal Nick Wingrove had finally lost his battle against cancer.

He was a familiar and friendly face to many, who'd volunteered at the Speed trials, along with many other VMCC events, for decades, usually arriving on his 500cc Vincent Comet.

Nick was a quiet chap, who fought his illness with impressive courage. He will be fondly remembered as a fantastic and reliable friend.

It goes without saying, he will be missed by all in the VMCC Sprint Section. His dedication to our sport and the Speed Trials will not be forgotten.

Rest in Peace.
